I did my longest tow ever this past weekend. Over 400 mile each way to Maryland and back to central NY. Took Interstation 81 through the hills of PA.

Needless to say I was a peek boost and EGT going up the hills (maintaining 70mph). On the return trip home, while climbing one of the many hlls in PA around Scranton, I notice my boost gauge dropped to zero and stayed there.

I figured the guage feed hose popped off the barbed fitting on the intake cone.

Well that is exactly what happend.

My question is, I traveled about anohter 80 mile before my scheduled fuel stop where I checked the gauge feed.

Given that I had a "hole" in the intake air system, I figured that I would have lost power or had higher EGT's. BUT I DIDN'T.

I had normal power and normal EGT's.

What gives?

The answer is simple, look at the size of your intake hoses compared to the little boost tube. Your intake is flowing hundreds of times more cfms than the little leak could dream of. It does make a hell of a noise when one leaks though.
