I'm posting on behalf of my father in law- who does not have a computer (but is a TDR Member;) )

I was in his truck coming back with him and we went to pull off the freeway- and the pedal went to the floor. :--) :--) He scrambled to find a lane to take and my life flashed before me, but he managed to bring it to a stop with the Emergency. After cleaning our shorts, we stared on and limped it home only on the foot brake. The ABS and Brake light arnings were lit:rolleyes: (DUH) but the pedal has zero pressure at all it goes to the ground, and VERY slowly returns after being pressed.

OK Details- The truck is 99' (Ignore MY SIG- it isn't MY truck;) ) 24v quad cab 4x4. Completely stock. And it has RWAL. Oh and its an Auto. And now there isn't a blown brake hose, there is fluid in the resevoir, and brakes were serviced about 8,000 miles ago.

The truck is soon to be towed to HB Dodge for a look, just thought I might now what we got ourselves into first. Yikes- Its out of warranty:{ :{ !!

Well, turns out the dealer can't find much wrong, other than they think that brake fluid was bad:confused: something about getting water in the lines and then the fluid overheating. Kinda scary though. I was hoping they'd find something to replace besides fluid. They couldn't find anything wrong with the master cylinder or the power steering pump. Keep some spare underwear handy in case it happens again:--) !!

YEP. shure sound's plausible to me !!

Since you live in the southern CA. tropical rain forest you are certainly going to get lots of water in the brake fluid. Yea: going through all thies rampaging rivers to get across town and haveing that water leak into the brake calipers where the fluid gets so hot that it boils the water to steam and causes the petal to go to the floor, and being unable to pump up some kind of pressure because of ?????, It has to be all that water.

I would get plastic seat covers, a case of paper towels and another case of skivies ( don't try to salvage them, just throw them away). Oo. Oo.
