Anyone know what year Dodge quit putting the cat on,was it before the 24 v?

As I recall the cat got lost when 24 valves came out because the electronic injector pump can adjust fuel rate/mixture cutting down on those nasty emissions(sweet diesel fumes/exhaust) coming out of tail pipe.

I believe the 98. 5 model had a CAT, but the 99 doesn't.

MM sounds about right to me. I've got a 98, I ordered it october, picked it up late Dec. It has a cat. It's a 12 valve.

Nope! Your wrong TR7110. Missouri Mule is right! The catalytic converter was eliminated when the PROPERLY VALVED engines came out.

New guy-silly question alert! My new truck(see below) has a smallish muffler/cat looking device in front of the muffler. I assumed it was a kitty, if not, what?

It is a resonator. I had mine removed today along with the muffler in favor of some straight pipe. It sounds great now just like a big rig.
