Lost: dash back lighting , Over head ,cargo

Hey All !



Newb To diesel . 04. 5 3500 Quad SRW .



On a night time trip to N. Carolina . I lost my dash back lighting ,Turn signal indicators , Interior lighting (Dome lights) & cargo lamp . No warning ! The lights were on , then off . Went to Dealer To get scanned for any codes . service writer shad , the scanner will not help in this case , No luck there . Brought a new Head light / dimmer switch . No luck again . All warning lights work , odo , shift indicator .



All suggestion are welcome .

Does the Door Ajar lamp work if you open any of the doors?

Do the turn signals themselves work?

Do the wipers work?

Does the truck make noise if it's off with the key in the ignition and the driver side door open?

It's hard to trace your problem to one common circuit.

Yes the door ajar lamp works



turn signals themselves work



wipers do work , but one dry day they did sweep the windshield twice then stop



no chime with key in door open

I just checked dodge.com/bodybuilder. Wiring diagrams (drwdz.pdf) are available there, but only back to 2005. I suppose if you asked this question a year ago your 2004 would be easily available. I'm sure it is available, it will just take more time. It is a huge file (35megabytes). I recommend you go to dodge.com and click on "for owners" on top right of page. There are links to service manual downloads and you may find what you need. Note: On the owner home page there is also link to recall notices, you'll need the last 8 digits of your VIN.

My truck was built in late o4 , so maybe the 05 manuel will work . I will try dodge .com .

My truck was also built in late '04 and the '04 manual is dead-on. There were enough changes that the '05 manual is just about useless for us.

So , if the o4 manuals & 05 manuals are so different it looks like i just wasted my time today HAHA . Does the o4 manuel show a EMIC module on the instrument cluster ?. This looks to be my problem . Edit . I also did a reset ODO & Key on Test , I got ( C Code ) then a ( OO OO ) Display
