I have my gauge lights wired into the dash light dimmer. Recently my gauges started to flicker so I repaired the loose wires and now I don't have any interior lights. NO dome lights nothing I don't even get the blinker on the inside but I can see that the blinkers are working in reflections.

What did I mess up?

I have done some looking in my maintenance manual and it looks like pins 1 and 2 out of the headlamp switch are not used but I used the wire off pin 2 to power my dimmed gauges. The gauges are wired in parallel so as not to add to many amps to the system.
I do not have any interior lights, cargo light or gauge lights, cluster or other.
Does anyone have any insight on what may have happened?
If you have the dealer maintenance manual refer to page 8W-40-5
I think pin 2 is pin 3 or 6 as the wire I spliced into is orage with black tracer

Recon mode my butt. I have to recon what speed i'm going at night.

yes I checked the fuses. I think its #41 its on the last row about the 3rd or 4th one in and its a 15 amp. I don't have the paper in front of me but the wire that I tapped for the gauges goes to pin 9 on the back of the gauge cluster and its pin 2 on the head light switch.

That brings up another problem that has cropped up.

I closed the hood after checking the fuses and relays and the bar that comes down from the latch that you pull on to fully release the hood landed on the ground when I shut the hood. Any ideas on how to get my hood open?

Whats the price on a new headlight switch and a new cluster? I heave a feeling I burned up one of the two.

The swith is about twice what you would expect and the clusters are sent out for an exchange program through auto electric radio in our neck of the woods.

I would try using a welding rod to start on the hood linkage
