I think my son just misplaced..... should i just go to the dealer to get a new one or get somewhere else and have it reprogramed... ... I think im going to give it another week or two, to see if it shows up..... ???

Well if the whole key is gone,, there aren't many options, the dealer is going to bed you over to the tune of about 100 for the key and 50-100 to program the key... . now if you have to functional keys you can program more keys yourself just buy the key, have it cut and your good to go. Ebay has keys for less $$ then the dealer, but if you have a nice dealer maybe if you buy the key they will program it for free.

If I remember correctly, I bought my key from the dealer and then the owners manual told me how to program the key. I could be wrong though.

After my lawn mower so viciously took out its fury on my remote instead of the grass, I got a new one at remotesandkeys.com for about 20 bucks. You (or maybe your son!) can program it! Mark Edit: my rememberer failed me. The price for my 04 is now $24. 95 for a refurbished or $31. 95 for a new factory one. Aftermarkets are less.

Unfortonatly the 06 remote is $120...

Check the web for key blanks or keyless remotes. There are a few sites that sell the keyless remotes and the transponder keys.

I found this on how to program a remote for a 2003 Ram 2500. (No Guarantees implied)

1) Turn ignition to OFF.
2) Locate the Data Link Connector, its a black 16 pin connector that is under the driver's side dash, right where your right knee would be. You have to look up into the dash from below to see it.
3) Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector by taking a wire or paper clip and running it from pin 1 to pin 4. Pin 4 is ground so you can just short pin 1 to 4 and it will be grounded. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are ready to reprogram it.
4) Close all of your doors.
5) Turn the key to ACC then back off. The power door locks will lock/unlock. This is the signal that the system is ready for reprogramming.
6) Push a button on your key fob, doesn't matter which button.
7) If you have 2 key fobs, then press a button on the 2nd fob within 1 minute of pressing a button on the 1st fob. Both must be programmed at the same time. If you only have 1 fob then press a button 2 more times to signal that you only have one.
8) The doors will lock/unlock to signal the codes were received.
9) Remove the jumper wire from the data connector. "
