started my truck(04. 5 CTD,47K) and pulled out to a red light. . The engine just shut off like I turned off the key. . I tried restarting and nothing happened. . Cycled the key several times the prime fuel system. . the truck restarted for about 5secs and After three tries i was able to get it out of the intersection. . I knew i had to have lost fuel. . at first i thought water. . so i jumped out and opened the fuel filter bowl drain. . Fuel just slowly drained out... removed my predator programmer and called roadside assistance. . What's the likely hood my injection pump is toast? I think im gonna upgrade to a FASS system here soon. . i want to start running the smarty and don't want to run out of fuel. . Since my truck is a 600 series is my pump already in the tank? Will dodge check for a programmer? ill keep everyone posted as the saga unfolds

Your pump is on your fuel filter canister for an 04. 5... I believe

If the dealer finds it's the pump, they will add the in-tank fuel pump setup which is better but not good enough for the mods you mentioned. Fass is good, Walbro is better, in my opinion... Either one and you'll have to drop the tank again if the dealer adds the pump in the tank. If you want you can do your own setup NOW before they do the intank option then you WILL NOT have to drop the tank. That is what I would do if I were in your position... Go to GlacierDiesels website.

I did lose my lift pump Friday evening. (04. 5 46,750 mi. ) Dropped it off Saturday morning and it was done Monday afternoon. Not sure if they checked for any mods, but the code was still there when I checked it with the key cycle. (P0628)
