just found out that my s300 lost the thrust bearings and machined a new shape into the compressor wheel and housing today. is there any upgraded housings and wheels that would fit my turbo? the part number of the turbo is 174430 with a model number of s300g071. or should i just look into a new turbo? money is tight so if i could still use this one i'd like to for a while longer, thanks for the help

a new S300G is about a grand shipped. a rebuild and new wheel/cover will be close to that amount but doable. Call HTT or II and see what they can do.

I absolutely love my new dual ball bearing Garrett Stage II. This is the turbo I've been looking for. Pricey but man does it ever move some air. Boost is 2 psi at 2,000 RPMs in park or neutral. Almost always has boost and as the numbers climb, it sets you back in the seat exponentially harder. Don't know of any better turbo to recommend. My year old HTB62/12 is available in St. Louis if you want to stay with the S300 family.
