Archived Lost My Turbo!!! (Long. Sorry, really really sorry.)

In February I saw a classified for HX35/40 hybrid listed by a "TDR Member" named Chris Rudd. Checked his postings and sent a couple emails back and forth. Everything seemed legit so I sent him a PayPal on March 8th.



On the 14th a got a message from UPS that said: "This message was sent to you at the request of CHRIS RUDD to notify you that the package information below has been transmitted to UPS. The package(s) may not have actually been placed with UPS for shipment. To verify when and if the shipment is tendered to UPS and its actual transit status, click on the tracking link below or contact CHRIS RUDD directly. Scheduled Delivery: 16-March-2004 "



The 18th Chris sent me an email that said he was out of town and his girlfriend would ship it the next day. That was last Friday.



Still no turbo. The ad is gone from the classifieds and I can't find any of his postings.

That message from UPS is the one you get if you buy shipping online so you can print out the label and ship it yourself without having to go to the UPS office... you can just drop it off at Mailboxes Etc or one of those places, but avoid their outrageous service charges. I do this all the time. Chances are, he paid for the shipping and printed out the label but his woman flaked or for some reason wasn't able to get it to the shipper. I accidentally did this to someone I sold something to on Ebay. They were expecting it by the date on the label, but I didn't get home until after that date. Hopefully he'll just drop it off with UPS when he gets back and apologize for the delay... I don't think you have to worry about being scammed just yet... it was probably just an oversight.

I'm still holding my breath. I like to trust people and usually they won't let you down, but I have been taken before. Luckily my home owners insurance covered it. I'm glad I paid extra for that stupid and gullible rider.

I bought a 1/16 John Deere square bailer for my boy from a lady on eBay-she had a good rating-didn't get it for like 2 weeks-she told me her daughter mailed it for her... unfortunately she coulden't find the receipt. She did a trace with the PO-no luck-she seemed to be trying, so I did not leave bad feedback-found out later that as long as I waited, I coulden't have anyway... well like 3 months later she emails me and says that a guy in NJ mailed it back to her... her daugnter had a brain dump I guess...



Another lady I used to work with had a teenage daughter-they had a 65 'stang-the mother was driving it in January sometime and decides to look in the glove box. There were all her mothers (the girls granny) Christmas cards, addressed and stamped-they were given to the teenager in December to mail, but it was not high on her list of priorities...



I would just wait-his girl probably had a crisis or something (nail salon burned down) and forgot.

He is a new member and should not be hung out to dry so soon.



Show a little patience, I have sold hundred's of products to TDR members and have never been burnt.

I've sent him so much email that I probably overloaded his mailbox, but I'm not giving up yet. I'm not going to file a PayPal complaint until the last minute since hopefully this is just a case of something came up and he couldn't get it shipped. I'm just kinda worried, disgusted, and bummed out because I haven't heard from him in a week. I don't know if the money I saved is worth the hair I've pulled out of my head worrying about it, but I still want/need the turbo and would have been able to put it on over the the past two weekends. The worst part is that I already had to pay the credit card bill for something that I haven't even got. :{

Good luck with paypal. I got burned on Ebay and paid with paypal. No one did anything to help like they say they will. Money is gone, and no item I paid for.



I bet its a mix up, you'll see your turbo.

There may be a good reason for the delay, so I waited as long as I could before I submitted the claim to PayPal, but I had to do it since I haven't heard a thing from him since the 18th.



I let my credit card company know what's going on too and they do have an agressive fraud department if this thing wasn't legit.



I also filed a missing package claim with UPS in case it was their fault, but since receivers have no standing in their opinion, they were way less than useless. Brown is bull. Fed-Ex treats you a lot better, they realize that there's a customer on both ends of the line. UPS sounds like a recording, "contact the seller so he can put a trace on the package". Well Duh!!! If I could contact the seller...



Just waiting on my money to come back so I can order a fresh turbo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

UPS Sucks big time, not one bit of help.



Mastercard was working on it... they sent me a form.



TDR went to bat for me and actually got a hold of Chris. Thanks Robin & Brandon!!!



Long story, seems the turbo was stolen, but Chris came through for me. Thanks Chris. Hope things work out for you too.



My refund from PayPal cleared today!!!



Oo. Oo. Oo.





But I still need a turbo. :{
