Idea? The trans won't shift out of 3rd, checked the ATF and found it to be about a quart low. Topped it off, no change. Had the dealer check it two months ago for rough OD shift, as expected they claimed it was fine. :rolleyes:



Guess not. Time for another dealer visit. I need to drive around town this weekend, I guess it won't hurt it anymore? :confused:
 
Try reseating the connectors on the engine PCM, mine had the same problem and it was only an electrical connection to blame. There is a TSB for it. Worth a try.
 
Messing with the connectors didn't do anything. The dealer claims that they can get to it first thing Monday or around 8:00 am. I sure hope its not major, because I need to pull a trailer this week. I'm supposed to get a rental to pull the trailer if it can't be fixed soon enough. In the past they rented Ford Super Crews, I wonder what they have in mind. Already told them I need a HD truck, they said no problem. I guess you can rent F-250s, I've never seen a Dodge rental bigger than a 1500.
 
Dealer replaced the PCM and harness plus the engine wiring harness. Whats the power train control module?
 
I'm on my second PCM and harness. This last one seems to be fine. Your rough 3-4 shift could be the rough torque converter lock up. Up hill mine will cause the turbo to bark under throttle. If I let off at 45 mph it locks up with less noise. The actual shifts are slightly firm to very light. The TC feels like a 5th gear. :)
