Has anyone experinced losing power steering and power brakes due to the cogs on the vacumm pump breaking off. Just wanting to know if this is common or just a bad part on my truck.

I think if you talk with Pete Gould at Gould Gear and Electric he will tell you he sees quite a few broken drive tangs of course he rebuilds the pumps and sees quite a few more than the average person. If you are in need of a new pump or better yet fix the existing one give him a shout he is significantly cheaper than anyone else I found and sells the parts as well as the pumps.

My ex-wife's 01 had a leak on the hydro-boost and would puke out PS fluid every time she'd step on the brakes and it didn't take too long of a trip to have steering/braking issues.
