Archived Lost Steering and Brakes

My dad in his 2012 3500 just went into a snow bank. Coming out it they notices a line was disconnected near the bottom of the radiator leaking fluid. He now has stiff steering and brakes and is 30 miles from help on the Utah/Wyoming border(Mirror Lake Highway). What would have affected both steering and brakes?

Hose on the power steering pump. Brake assist and power steering both use the pump pressure. bgsteer

My truck has a cooler there so if your dad's truck does, it could be the same thing. Hook it back up and add some ATF+4. Hopefully it didn't break the nipple off the cooler!
