Looks like I'm going to have to have the evaporator core under my dash replaced sometime this next week when I can find time to get it done. I'm pretty well booked up this next week until Friday. With the temps on the locations yesterday showing 104 the air is going to have to be fixed pretty quick. Thursday I will be about 5 miles from the Rio Grande on a plant move which sometimes takes all day to get unloaded, not looking forward to that. I had fog coming out of my vents and then lost the AC so I'm pretty sure that is what it is. Anyone have any thoughts on what else it might be.

Some times the fog is ice crystals forming on the evaporator and being blown into the airstream. sometimes if the leak is in the right place and big enough it is oil vapor. Just have to check it out and see if there is a leak somewhere else. Usually there will be an oil stain if it the leak is in a hose or at a connection. bg

It is leaking oil and also the dye from the R135 that was put in out the drip tube so I'm pretty sure that is where the leak is . It will be replaced probably Friday. Hope it can be done without cracking the dash.

A/C is fixed. It was definitely the evaporator core, when it was taken out it had oil all over it and was pretty well clogged up with dirt and crud, really don't know how any air got through it at all. Going back down to South Texas tomorrow, will be great to have the A/C back.

Did you have to crack the dash? I am thinking mine is horribly dirty because my system is not cooling as well as it should, but is full of 134.

No, the dash was not cracked. They get brittle and sometimes crack when they are removed. I got lucky, no problems and the cool air is really nice, showed 98-99 on the road in East Texas today. All is well.
