That topic was titled "5th wheel trailers?" There was a little controversy about the questions he was asking that kind of took over the thread. I wouldn't be suprised if he deleted it himself. Too bad. There were some good replies in there, but I think he was made to feel like he was asking stupid questions, (most of us know that there are no such things) I've deleted a couple of my own topics that seemed to go off in another direction, or made me look stupid. I hope he keeps posting here. I am still interested in his search for a fiver.

It was all my fault guys - I tried (poorly) to point out that the general nature of questions asked made it difficult to accurately zero in on an appropriate reply - and gave suggestions as to how best to provide the needed parameters as to narrow down the advice - rather than a BUNCH of suggestions that didn't fit the specific situation - sorta' like walking into a Burger King and asking for "a hamburger" - and getting a double whopper when all you REALLY wanted was a piece of meat between a couple of buns...

MY comments were interpreted as to "technical" and "critical" - and since the thread veered off topic and ended up in too many explanations of what was said vs what some THOUGHT was being said, it got killed...

Sorry for my part in the scenario - will try to be more careful next time - and didn't mean any harm THAT time!

No harm done. Mike was like an unarmed soldier. He could not be specific because he did not know what he needed and therefore did not know what he wanted. Once a need and a budget is in focus, then the rest is a matter of colors. I think he may come to FTW next week and I will take him into a dealer auction with me and see if there is something there that will satisfy his needs.

One good way to educate yourself a little on campers is to hit the RV shows. We have a big one here in Pennsylvania every September. Last time I went, I think there was around 600 or so units. With that kind of competition, you can cut some good deals too. Don't forget to factor in service of course.
