Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Lost valve keeper......problem?

I'm not sure if it's a problem but, I dropped a valve keeper into the push rod hole while changing exhaust springs. Will it stay in the push rod area or fall into the pan? Basically, do I start removing parts or will it be okay?



I've never had a 5. 9 Cummins apart so I'm not sure if it can fall through or not.

pull the push rod and use a teloscopic magnet, hopefully you can lift it out. you dont want any metal floating through your engine
