anything stronger then a Dana 80?

I am trying to figure out what seems impossible. I loved the sound of my straight 5", but towing at 2200rpm is nearly impossible (rolled down windows help). I have since put in a Donaldson 26" muffler and now it is too quiet. It sounds good at low rpm, but I like it to come alive when I get after it (nothing like sticking a straight 5" in a DMAX window). I was thinking of using a 16" dynomax bullet muffler (straight through) and a 5" resonator. Has anyone tried this combination? Any suggestions?

TDR Member Rip Rook has done so many different combinations of mufflers, resonators, duals, triples (just kdding) he has alot of good free advice.

I would recommend a call 1 866 211 1533 and you may even get a good laugh too :)

Rip is very good at exhaust

Yeah, I talked to him. He gave me some ideas, but did not have a definate answer for me. He wants me to let him know of my results when I figure this out.

I'd like to hear your results. I love it mine but after long trips it leaves ya a little ringy. I've often thought thicker wall pipe would help.

I think what I am going to try is two 5" Dynomax Bullet mufflers. They are only 16" long, so I am thinking if I put two in there it might take that edge off and still sound mean. I just ordered them so we shall see.

I only used 1 Dynaflex resonator (5") on mine. Got rid of drone, and made it a little deeper sound. Makes it tad bit quieter, but not too much. :D Mostly just takes the edge off it.

Well, I have it where I am pretty happy with it. I took off my Donaldson (too quiet and still the droan) and replaced it with two Dynomax 5" bullet mufflers. They are only 20" long to I put one as far back as I could and the other one as far forward as I could. It now has the straight pipe sound when I mash the go-pedal and when I am pulling, the droan is less than it was with the Donaldson (almost non existent). :)

lining the interior with lead sheet made more difference inside than a 24" long 7" diameter resonator!

IE, straight pipe with lead lined interior = quieter inside than muffled with no lead inside.
