My 2001 ETH 6 speed Quad Cab short bed 4 x 4 sometimes has a very pronounced "clunk" noise when turning and going over bumpy surfaces. The noise seems rooted in side to side motion. The truck has to be turning. No noise when going straight over bumpy stuff.
It seems as if part of the suspension is shifting to another position. The noise seems rooted in or around the rear axle.
I checked the spare tire and all of the normal suspension fittings and can find none that are loose.
My only normal theory is that this is fuel slosh in the tank.
Help anyone???
Harry
