coming home from church today i develop a ex leak. lifted hood and seen there was no pipe in back of turbo. got home and loosend clamp nut and thought i was going to remove clamp and install pipe back in and tighten down. Do i need a special set of clamp pliers to remove the clamp? Also it looks as ther may have been a rooled lip on the edge of ex. pipe at one time dont know for sure. Also did I hurt the turbo by driving it5 miles home with no ex. on back of turbo. any help would be greatly welcomed

on how to fix and if i need the pipe where to get one.

Should only need deep 1/2" socket to tighten the clamp. Clamp has "rolled" confiration to fit over rolls of turbo and exhaust pipe. You may have lost the clamp going down the road. Wont hurt anything to drive without the pipe if you can stand the noise. One of the tests mechanics perform on the engine is to remove the exh manifold completely and run the engine.

clamp nut was not loose. when i loosend clamp nut to check things out it back off good, but i could not spread clamp open is this spring loaded clamp. also it looks like there might have been a lip on ex. pipe and now there is not

just give the stud part of the clamp a tap it is just stuck it will open up sounds like the rolled edge gave up on the exhaust pipe though

Does anybody know if this pipe coming out of back of turbo is available at ex. shope or a web site i could order from

thanks for all replies

still need help

i called the dealer today and they told me120. 00 for pipe

coming out exhaust side of turbo. cummings told me that they didn't show one for my engine# but had one that would probally work. for 60. 00. does anybody know if i can look up a web site that may sell this 3 inch pipe. or should i drive the 1 hr drive to get from cummings thanks

Several brands of automotive parts sell the downpipe as part of thier exhaust line. I have one that's butchered on the lower end you can have for a few bucks and shipping...

My former employer had a good used one in their bonepile last I knew. So should some other places that do turbo upgrades.

Thanks Power Wagon for the offer and also telling me of the

parts stores I was just thinking of exhaust shops and dealers. "da" sometimers kicking in. If i have trouble finding a pipe or to much I will get back to you on your offer. This my first repair since buying a ctd all new to me. thanks again for post.
