loud squeek under hood

I need some help. My neighbor bought my 90 CTD a couple years back. Says its the best truck he's ever had. Yesterday it started squeeking. I listened to it, its comeing from the drivers side,down in beside the block. When the RPMs go up so does the squeek. I couldnt figure it out so i told him id post it here to see if any of you have ever run across this before. Im trying to get him to be a member of the TDR. Hope we can figure this out. His truck is a 1990 ,4x4, 5speed,168k,no mods. Thank you all for any help. Edgeman

Bearing Noise

Would suspect the problem is a bad bearing in one of the accesories, possibly the power steering pump or vacuum pump. You can use a piece of dowel or a small rubber hose to listen to the bearings on each accesory to isolate the problem.

Check the turbo and rubber connectors to that air tube that goes over top of the motor. Maybe the clutch for air cond. Let us know what you figure out.

Hmmm, let me guess...

I would bet that it is the bearing in the tensioner pulley. Mine went, and sounded like a dying chipmunk under there
