I was cruising around today and I thought I lost my airfilter because the turbo was twice as loud as normal. I pulled over to check out the problem and after about 20 min. of searching I realized that the passenger door was closed but not fully latched. I shut it all the way and all was normal again. Now that i know nothing is wrong I like driving with the door this way. :-laf :-laf

Mine got a lot louder when I ran the cable for my CB antanna through the passenger door. Just having the small leak around that weatherstrip makes quite a bit of noise. I don't hear an air leak while driving, but I certainly do hear the turbo.

If you're looking to enhance the whistle, put a tip on your straight pipe. I put a 4 to 6" tip on mine and the roar increased along with the whistle. Echo is pretty good off trees, buildings, passing cars. :)

In the inlet of the turbo there is a disc held in with a snap ring that smooths the path of air into the compressor housing.

I think i got mine out with a screwdriver. The snap ring just fits into a machined groove. When it is gone, the silencer ring will just fall out with little force.
