Love it in every way but it does not pull as well as my 01 with the Banks system on it. Running the 600 empty it feels like it has more power than the 01. Even when I`m pulling on the flats with my 10k toy hauler it feels better. Maintains highway speeds in 6th gear no problem. However the same hills that my 01 would pull at 60 the 600 falls on its face and drops to about 45 and loses about 2 gears. I am surprised as on paper the 600 has more hp and torque. Granted I am running 315`s on the 600 but I dont think that is all the problem.

Oh well, looks like I`m shopping for power upgrades now. I know alot of you dont like Banks but I loved their system on my 01 and I may look at them.

Input??

I've noticed a similar situation. My 01 had an EZ, BHAF, etc. I don't think one can compare a modified 01 w/ a stock 600 because with the EZ the power came on early in the rpm band. With my 600, the power seems to be in the 2000 plus range. I downshift to 5th and she pulls like a horse. I suspect once Edge or Banks comes out with goodies for the 600, it will surpass the 01.

Input?

The Banks may be a good product, but thier advertising is misleading at best and the cost is way too high for the power gains achieved IMO. Do what you will.

Those tires may be the culprit. If you have the originals,. . put 'em on and take it on the same run. I personally pulled 20. 5k lbs from KC to St. L and really only one challenging hill about 75 miles out of ST. L. I was at 75mph on tow mode going into it on cruise and I was 73mph at the top. I'm running stock except for exhaust and I can't imagine what you described being a lack of power. I have the auto.

I dont have the old tires to try, would be surprised that a 2" taller tire would hurt it that bad. Oh well, just need to convince the wife that we HAVE to put more $$$ into a brand new truck.

That is interesting because I have the exact opinion of the 03 305/555 versus my 01 245/505. The 01 out pulls hands down on the steeps. I wouldn't go as far as saying the 03 falls on its face, but I always have to downshift to 5th. The only limit on the 01 was that most hills around here mean curves also. I could pull wolf creek pass fully loaded and not have to downshift on the 01. Both are mostly stock, I have had my 01 dyno'ed and it runs really strong, but I can't beleive it put more power to the ground.

I also completely agree that the 03 is quicker empty. Pulls stronger from a stop, even with the duals versus a SWB 2500. It has to be the turbo Configuration/design? right? Maybe the 2nd gens can maintain that power better or something. So I am leaning towards an EZ to even it out.

2" on tires will make a hugh difference. I went from 215 originals to the 235s i run now and I could feel a difference (less power). The EZ more than makes up for it!:D
