Ha Ha!

Just kidding boys. :-laf :-laf

Actually I do have one other complaint... the dual purpose interior light/cargo light switch sucks.

Anyone else hate that damn thing? I've left my cargo light on several times because of that crazy switch.

Yeah, that switch does indeed suck. It's still better than the one on my '01 that left the interior light on at the same time as the cargo light. Made it kinda hard hooking up the trailer at 5:00am. Ain't never left my cargo light on though.

Doesn't the dash light turn on with the cargo lamp? Doesn't it also chime at you if you leave it on and try to get out of the truck? You can't say they didn't attempt to engineer some fail safes into the system. Also, you can't tell me you don't like being able to run your lights during the day without the odometer, radio, and compass being dim ;)

I get the biggest kick out of us complaining about a little wind noise, uncomfortable seat, or easy to chip paint, switch :-laf ... . then you go over to the Ford site and see things like:

"First day, 70 miles on truck and the transmission went out and is getting replace"... #@$%!

"Truck sounds like a circular saw cutting plywood"... #@$%!

"Truck came in on a Flat bed; service man ran for cover" #@$%!

Not saying others make a bad truck (you make you own decision on that) but I sure love my "little problems" verses what those guys are going through... :-laf

You are right about the switch, it is a tricky little devil... I am sure the guys behind you hates it even more :p

My 0. 02 worth, it sucksssss!!!! :p

I don't like all the "dinging" when you turn on the cargo lamp. But what I really HATE is the "feature" that turns off your parking lights if you leave them on more than 5 minutes. a real PITA when you're on the side of the road at night and away from the truck.

I had a 96 that the interior light came on when the cargo light was on and I didn't like it. It made it difficult to see the back of the truck. I also like being able to see the interior lights during the day. The new switch is different but I am now used to it. I thought the lights automatically turned off after 15 minutes. Never tried it? Have a great day.

What was wrong with the good ol' days when the first Gen had a light switch... you turned it if you wanted interior lights... . then, a separate $3 switch for the cargo light?

Now you got the interior lights coming on when you open the doors... they have a mind of their own as to when they turn off... you can push any of the several interior lights to turn them on manually or you can turn them on with the interior light/cargo light switch. If a child pushes one of the lights manually & you don't notice... you can't tell if it's a light, if a door is slightly open, if the switch is turned on... if the computer has the lights timed... . too complicated guys.

Complicated is not always better.

My Chev has a better switch for the cargo lamp (independent button just for that), but I like the manual headlight controls on the Dodge better. Those automatic headlights on the Chevys can be a real pain sometimes. Ever roll up to a police roadblock at night with a big sign that says "PLEASE TURN OFF HEADLIGHTS" and you can't figure out how to shut them off while the truck is running  ??? They think you're either drunk or a smart aleck, neither of which is good :-laf . Happened to me.

I always figured if somebody is too dumb to turn their headlights on when it gets dark they probably shouldn't be driving.

On a serious note though, that cargo/dome light setup on the Dodge doesn't bother me one bit. I've also seen complaints here about the Infinity sound system. I cranked up an Alan Jackson cd real loud tonight coming home from Lowes just to see how it sounded. It was fine. Maybe not as good as the Bose system in my Chev, but no complaints here. I don't listen to rap music, so I don't need the loud booming bass that shakes the windows in the car next to you :-{} .
