Six weeks ago, I took my wife’s 2008 Jeep Liberty in to the local dealer for an oil change. While I was waiting I wandered over to the sales side and decided to take a 2015 Ecodiesel 1500 for a test ride. The salesman sent me on my merry way in the truck and suggested I pick up my wife for the cruise as well. This started it and by the end of the day, I had traded my 2011 Laramie 3500 for a 2015 Laramie 3500. Getting there was easy…my wife said, and I quote, “wouldn’t you rather have that Cummins up front?”. Well, of course I couldn’t pass this opportunity up!
I though it might be time to report in with some stats after six weeks of driving this wonderful machine (about 60/40 city/highway):
The engine now has 89 hours on it; 10 idling and 79 driving.
The truck has 3177 kilometers, or 1974 miles on the odometer.
Oil Life shows 84% remaining and Fuel Filter life shows 82%.
I filled up the DEF tank, which was showing at half full, today, with a 9.42 liter, 2.49 U.S. Gallon jug. This brought the DEF gauge to over the 100% mark.
Fuel consumption has been fantastic. 408 liters or 107 US gallons or 89 Imperial gallons. For total mileage of 12.84 li/100km, 21.9 MPG Imperial and 18.3 MPG U.S.
While my 2011 Laramie was a nice truck, this one is just plain outstanding!
