Drag Comp and fuel system?

I really enjoy driving my tuck since I got the new transmission, it is really nice. The problem is I see more and more 99' with the 53 cracking. i don't buy all the heavy towing stuff. I think its like the Draft, when your numbers up its up. With that said I have been thinking about selling my truck but probably will not be able to. See I have a bit of rust developing under the door. I totally blame Chrysler for that little gem. Anyway The truck is really nice otherwise and I would like to drive it till I go Belly up. Hell no death wobble and handles great. With the aftermarket I feel like I can bulletproof almost anything that breaks within reason. (damn 53)

Worried about ULSD also. Somewhat worrie about quality issues early on but more worried about price. I am afraid it could be sky high if some of the distribution issues I read about are true. Hate to see anything mess with my HRVP44 either. I can stomach paying more for fuel if the damn truck does not suffer a huge $$ failure along the way.

To top if off my almost 2 year old son launched a smoothie from his car seat cause he was done with it, guess he wanted to see if Smoothies could fly :-laf I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. It cleaned up fine but right then and there I decided not to upgrade the interior with Katskinz ;) I swear if I ever get stuck in a snowdrift I could survive for days on cheerios and Goldfish. Just stick your hand down behind the seat and you have an instant meal :-laf Ah, life is good, The boy realy helps me keep things in perspective, maybe I don't hate my truck afterall. Think I'll just try to smile and keep on keepin on.

Thanks for the shoulder :D I feel better all re :-laf ady

I know the feeling. Every time I get the urge, I look at the sticker of a new truck. I look at the receipts for the bombs. I look at the title to my truck. Pretty soon I get warm and fuzzy and plan my next bomb/toy/adventure!

I can't handle living "what if?" There are so many things that COULD happen, you'll go crackers if you don't enjoy the moment (even if it's surrounded by smoke!)

I would not worry about the block cracking I just read about a process to Metal Stitch it back togeather stronger than original as far as the rust take it back to the dealer it is suposed to be warranted for 10 yrs for corrosion a friend of mine had a 90 that they took care of.

Keep it

I traded off my '01 2500 4X4 for a new '04 because of constant transmision problems and lift pump failure. I really enjoy the new truck, but it doesn't compare to what I had. The noisy 24 valve has more character than this HPCR engine. The truck had more character than this one. I hope I get used to it. :(

If I were you I would keep the 2nd gen until it dies then rebuild.

Not much you can do about he 53 block except when its time is up its up. . even if it goes fixing/repalcing it will be cheaper than a new truck. Way cheaper. As far as the ULSD just use an additive. I personally am using the Amalgamated as I think it is the best but I think most of the over the counter stuff is just fine for adding lubricity back to the fuel.
