Took my new 2012 for a spin out to the lake today. Trying to get the recommended 500 miles on it before towing. I just cannot believe how refined this truck is over my third gen. These trucks have come a long way! This truck does not ride like a one ton dually... Only mods are tinted windows, Ram mudflaps and a MaxBrake. This will most likely be the only time in my ownership of this truck that it will be out at the lake without a boat trailer attached to it.

We love ours also. Does a great job of pulling our trailer! I will put up with the fuel mileage for all it has to offer in exchange. Really not that different when pulling the fifth wheel.

Agreed about the mileage. But, it really shouldn't be any worse than my old truck once it gets broken in. The '05 got 15 mpg around town and 9-10 towing.

I was holding out for a 2013 with the DEF and front axle disconnect, but with the delays and 2014 production scheduled to start this summer, I couldn't pass up the deal on this truck. I also got an incredible trade allowance for my '05.

So, Transfer Flow, here I come!

That's a beautiful truck and a professional grade photo. You should send it in to Robin for consideration for a future TDR calendar photo. It looks good enough to be used in a Ram brochure.

I try not to look at new truck photos!

Thanks Harvey!

I know what you mean, I didn't really look at new trucks for 8 years and then made the mistake of looking and driving one.

You think the 4th gens are sweet coming from an 05, in our case we moved up from an 02 dually. Talk about a night and day difference in features and comfort!! Yeah, I gave up some towing power (the 02 was running a nice, mild 347/762 at the rear wheels), but the '11 handles the 5th wheel just fine. My wife loves "her" truck and does a fair bit of the driving when we're towing. Heck, she's even towed the 5th wheel several times by herself when I was at work!
