Hey guys, just got a NAPA 2790 today, man I must be getting old, that certainly is a BHAF! Sure can't wait to get it installed this evening. Should I pull out the silencer ring while I am at it? I think I should! Oo. I bought my truck about a week ago, with 78,000 miles on it and I love it more every day. Took it to Oklahoma this weekend and there is nothing like the CTD for pulling the horse trailer!! I have a question though, it seems to have a growl from the right rear side. It increases in volume when I am going around a left hand turn and goes away when I am turning right. Not very noticable on the straits, but still there. Is it a right outer carrier? What do you fellas think? And thanks to Dieselminded for the info on his site that is great for someone new to this like me!

HMmmmm - with a full-floating axle, I wouldn't think a turn one way or another would load the carrier - but it COULD be a wheel bearing...

I don't know if I made myself clear when I was describing the problem. The growl is definately coming from the rear. Mine is a 2000 so I guess it has sealed front wheel bearings anyway?? I am still thinking it might be the right rear inner or outer hub bearings. I guess if I raise the vehicle up I can see if the rear tire/hub combo moves. Is that the right proceedure to check?
