60-65 degrees today and yesterday. Canadian geese moving north en masse. I know it's a bit of a teaser and we might get an "onion snow" or two but it sure feels good after the winter we had.

I'm lovin' our weather too.

It's a snow day here, so I'm home with the kids. All indications are tomorrow will be too. Possible accumulations of 3 feet or more here in the foothills where I live.

Woohoo!

3" this morning in Denver. Calling for anywhere between 15" and 30" by Wednesday. I'm hoping for 30"+. Time to go play in an empty parking lot to see how the barge handles in this stuff.

Oo. Oo. Oo.

Back to the 50* area by the weekend. Only in Colorado.

JW:

Heard on the radio on the way in this morning that they said this may be one of the top 4 storms of the century for our area. Heard up to 60 inches in the foothills. Seems a bit much but if it keeps snowing like it has for the next couple days like they say it is I don't doubt it. Guess we will know for sure when it stops.

24" plus so far here in SummCo @ 9:00am tue and still coming downOo. Oo. Oo. company ski day at the beach this FridayOo. Oo. Oo. Had to pull a couple of those toyotas with the w-i-d-e tire just to get out of my parking lot this morn:cool: :D :D wax those skis! pow- pow!

I'm in the foothills west of Berthoud, just south of Carter Lake. We've only got 4 or 5 inches standing because it's melting really fast. Right now with the wind it's coming down sideways. About every hour it plugs up the satellite dish and cuts off the war news...

Snowing and blowing on the high plains this morning too. We have around 7" so far, I think, it's hard to tell. The wind is blowing 30-50 mph, there are drifts taller than me in places. My brother e-mailed me this morning. He lives in Coal Creek Canyon above Boulder, CO. They have over 3 feet and it's still coming down and not supposed to stop until Wed or Thurs. I hope we get more here as well. The weather quack said up to 2 feet more than we have now. I had the cummins out this morning busting drifts. It sure is nice to have the weight. Oo. :D

I grew up "downwind" of Coal Creek Canyon. That thing used to funnel some amazing windstorms our way. I heard a weather report saying Coal Creek Canyon could see eight feet or more!

I lived up there for 10 years. People here complain about the wind. They have no idea. The wind gauge at Wondervu (at the top of coal creek) tops out at 135 mph and it maxes out usually a few times during the winter. I miss the deep snow. It was fun to live in a winter wonderland, but having horses became a real PITA. The mud in the spring and frozen water tanks all winter and dragging hoses through the snow. I don't miss that part of it!!

I wouldn't be surprised at 8 feet. I've seen over 6' a few times in one storm. It's a snow belt for sure. Talked to my brother an hour ago, he said the snow blower was tunneling rather than clearing the snow. He's like me, in hog heaven right now!

I was way of on my depth estimates. About a half hour after this post, I went out to get a head start on the cars, and the sidewalk. Closer to 8" and really wet. I filled the bed of my truck just shoveling a path around the front and the drivers side. No weight concerns on this trip. I will try to post some pics. Having an argument with size and quality on the uplaod.

Bring it on, we need it. Sticks, I didn't have to shovel any weight into my bed, it was already full of snow here in Ft. Collins. :D

Just another sunny low 60s day in Eastern Washington :D

It's cooled down from the 79F we saw last week

Trees have been flowering out for the last 2 weeks, crocusus & rhododendrums bloomed 3-4 weeks ago, and many have mowed their lawns already. . .

Shoveld the drive again and there is no more room in my truck. It is now level with the cab, and I am 1/2" from the helper springs.

Now I have an exscuse for no more shovelingOo. Oo.

Last measurement at 6:00 was 15" and the news is calling for another 18" tonight. I feel for you guy and gals in the foothills. Our trucks can only do so much, and I think that 46" is too much, and you have more coming. Pics are in my readers rigs under sticks. More tomorrow.

Well, it's 11:00pm and there is about 2. 5' of snow in my yard. I was enjoying this up until I started shoveling. After 2 hrs, I quit. Then I high-centered the truck in the street trying to get into the driveway before it got buried again.

Colorado: If you don't like the weather, just wait a few min.

Snowed in in Cheyenne!

Well it's still blowing here Wed. am. It didn't let up all night and the drifts out my window arou around 5 feet tall. I got the truck stuck last night going to the neighbors to feed his horses for him. Another neighbor tried to pull me out with his Excursion but could even get within 20 feet of me and he was stuck. Spent 2 hours digging each other out, then I got somewhat stuck again trying to back into the garage, had to shovel to get in. As I said before, my brother lives in Coal Creek Canyon west of Boulder and this is what he wrote this morning:

Hello everyone!!

Well, I don't have a digital camera, but I plan to use my video camera for this. We had about 2 more feet of snow last night. Over all, I'll bet that we have had about seven feet of snow, but it is heavy, and it is compressing itself down to five feet on the flat in the middle of the yard. The drifts are up to 8 feet. We have to shovel out an area for the dogs to go to the bathroom, otherwise they can't and won't go. The front door is stuck this morning, we can't open it because the outer door opens out and there is too much snow. bad thing is, it is still coming down hard, the weathermen don't expect it to be done until tomorrow morning. I expect to have at least six feet of snow in the yard by the end of the day, probably more in reality. The plow made it by once yesterday, made one pass, and we never saw it again. You can't even tell he went by. We are definitely stuck at home for a while. I guess for once we had the luck!! More updates as time goes.

okbye

Here in Castle Rock weatherman this morning said we got 39 inches so far and it is still snowing. To top it off I have a pretty decent snowblower but the darn thing won't start. Spent 2 or 3 hours last night taking the carb apart 2 or 3 times and still no go. It will run if I spray gumout into the carb. So close yet so far. Finally gave up and broke out the shovel. A solid 3 feet in the driveway last night. Woke up this morning and thought at least it will be easy to shovel off the driveway but heck no it snowed like heck all night and drifted to boot. Had another 2 1/2 feet to shovel again this morning. Drifts in the back an easy 6+ feet they are taller than the fence. Couldn't open any of the doors only way in or out was through the garage door till I shoveled out the front door. Man is this stuff heavy.
