My recirc door pivots broke allowing the door to fall down and partially cover the place where the fan intakes air. Three screws to remove the fan just above the passenger foot area and unplugging of course and you can reach up into the area above the fan motor and feel the door. Or you can remove the glove box and look into the air intake with a flash light and see the door operate as you switch from recirculate to fresh air intake mode. If the door is out of proper position you can have flow problems. Google heatertreater for some great information on how to fix this.
The recirc. door is not too difficult to do, as long as you don't have the Infinity stereo. HT will tell you to cut the grill on the air intake to install their door- it is not necessary, it can be done from the bottom once the fan is removed.
yep no need to cut the grill. Just a bit of puzzle to solve to get a door back up though there after the other one comes out so easily. Kind fun really once you know that it will easily make the trip up through the passage. If you have difficulty just start with the other end up first.
I didn't get time to fix mine ( I have the new doors from HT http://www.heatertreater.net/ ) before I went to Columbus and while travelling thru SD in 95* weather I wished I had as I was having the same problem you just described. David
