Just had my first headlight bulb die this weekend. Tell me, is the general consensus that the high-end replacement bulbs are not worth the money? I have a Brite-Box if that figures in, but the high bulb is fine. Thanks

A lot of guys are running the sylvania "Silverstars" (including me). They are a very bright white- not blue. I like them a lot, they made a big difference. They aren't real expensive, and they aren't hard to find.

Silverstar difference...

Yes... they will look different and significantly so.

I upgraded to the Silverstars myself as well. I replaced one at a time (obviously) and hit the lights against the garage door at night. Definitely a whiter, almost "silver" light from the Silverstars and the stock light definitely looked yellowish.

They are whiter and brighter IMO, but the beam pattern cast from the stock (non-sport) headlights is the problem only sport lights will cure.

Interesting thing... I have seen several Ram's with the Silverstars around Colorado Springs lately. Maybe lots of people are getting fedup with the stock lighting enough to attempt an upgrade. Silverstars are probably the easiest first step.

Oh, one other thing, they can be purchased separately, or in pairs. If bought in pairs, there is a $10 rebate right now from Sylvania as well as a cheaper per unit price. Just food for thought.
