2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Low Beam delay

When I switch to low beam there is a 1 to 2 second "blackout". GEnerally OK but a little unnerving. All the other lights stay on. I've got the Summit bypass harness. This began after being in Mexico for the Winter and not driving at night for 4 months.

It is probably the multi-function switch on your steering column. I had the same thing happen to me.

I had the same problem with the multifunction switch. Fixed it by spraying some electrical contact cleaner in there while switching back and forth from high to low beams.

I am also using the Summit bypass, and this has happened to me about three times. Each time, it took place after I hadn't used the headlights for a while. After a brief "what-the-hey" delay, the lights have come on. It just may be a feature" of the Summit relays. The good news is that we can always plug back into the main OEM system if we need to.
