What am I missing? I have three trucks in CA and I don't have an EGR on any of them that I know of. Whats more the only inspection I've ever had here was to confirm that the truck I got in Il was in fact a Diesel. Thats it.
I can't imagine anyone doing this by choice. So whats the rest of the story?
You know, it is funny you say that. When I first opened this page and seen that pic, before I read ANY text, I thought for SURE this was a thread about someone doing a photochop EGR tube. So no, your not the only one. It has the appearance of being chopped in, but it may just be the combination of a poor camera and wierd lighting.
Hey now don't be too fast to judge the guy. That picture looks darn close to my engine comparment. With all the hoopla about emissions testing I put my EGR back on... ..... but with 1/8" steel plate to block it off on both sides and a few resistors to fool the Check Engine Light when it didn't see a temp change in the egr. But then I aslo kept my Kitty and stock pipe... . out behind the shop, just in case I need to swap em' back in. As a note if you plan to block off your egr there is a tube that runs form the valve into the intake horn, it's about an 1"&1/2 dia and about six" long. Just use a screw driver and a pair of channel locks to pull that sucker out. I figure the more open the better.
