I haven't read this forum for several months and I've probably missed the discussion on this issue. Understand there is a kit to install a low pressure switch and warning light on the fuel supply to the VP44 pump. Has anyone had any experience with this kit or know where to buy one ?

Thanks,

Charlie

Would like to thank all of you for your comments. I installed a gauge last year and after a few thousand miles it started rattleing and my wife was irritated by the noise, so I unhooked it at a campground in Missouri. Figured a warning lamp would keep peace in the family. After seeing the picture of the one on ebay, looks simple enough.

Thanks,

Charlie

I put the warning light kit on my 2001 but I also put a T in line to hook the FP gauge up to. I want both. If the warning light or sending unit fails the you have nothing to warn you except when your VP44 fails as a result of low FP output. Then thats really expensive. Gauges are good insurance.

I Just installed a LIght on my truck, it works great. I picked up a 5 psi oil pressure sensor from Napa, a small bulb from Radio Shack and installed it in the upper corner of the gauge cluster housing. I wired it to the Lighter fuse as it is only on when the ignition is on. While I was at it and had the dash apart I also intalled one of the flashing Led's on the other side of the cluster wired up to battery power and the Oil sensor. Now when I shut the truck off the LED flashes just like I have an alarm, the other light only works when the ignition is on. Another benifit is that both lights come on when the Fuel pressure goes below 5 PSI, one flashing and the other steady. Lets see if I can miss that.
