I have a 1991 4X4 that I bought new. It has 215,000 miles on it and is going strong. I am having a problem, though. I'm in Phoenix, and during the summer, the engine runs significantly hotter than the rest of the year. When this occurs, I lose my oil pressure when the engine idles. I have to step on the gas a little to keep the pressure high enough to keep the gauge up and the low pressure idiot light off. Any ideas?

Is your idle set properly? I just responded to the "Belt Squeak" thread that it took the belt sqeaking for me to look at idle as an issue. I borrowed a photo tach to set it accurately. Much to my surprise, the spec plate on the timing cover on my '93 calls for 800 RPM. Mine was under 700. Sqeaking went away and the AT shifted better as well.

Hey G you probably ought to be glad you're removed. It's nothing like it was 25 years ago and especially the last 2 have totally ruined the character of this area. LA north is what it's becoming. High Tech, a double edged sword. Oh, and the government... .

The climate and the ocean though are as great as ever.
