Just for the collectors i guess. I dont mean to offend anyone here, as i imagine the new owner will be here if he already isnt.

I think i will let you keep the utility body, A/c, manual trans, and the non intercooled engine. I keep the club cab, 11,000 more miles, and over $10,000 in my pocket. :--)

Never in my entire life will i understand people and these trucks, rough Blue book is only $8,000- $8500 but who pays close to even blue book, always less. The one that isnt sold blue book is around $9500-$10000 is a much better truck then the first one IMO. But it will probably sell for close the $15000, lmao.

Reserves were met on both these trucks at around $7000 i think, at least the seller had an idea that the were worth something, but not almost twice what the seller was thinking:--)

Well, kind of like FJ40's, eh? They are great rigs, I have owned several, but people really pay too much for them (especially on Ebay)

I paid entirely too much for my '93 W350, but it is a nice truck and I had a hard time finding a 4x4 dually at all, let alone one in good shape. Most were around 200k miles, which doesn't really scare me (had a 2nd gen 4x4 dually with 255k) but of course prefer lower.

Also, a lot of people don't think too much when it comes to a low-mileage fire truck... . think about how they are run - started up cold and driven hard right out of the firehouse. They sometimes have many different people driving them, who don't seem to care about how they are treated. But, with low miles and shiny paint/chrome, they bring good money

Apparently things are different in other parts of the country. When I was looking for my truck, even the high mileage junkers were bringing high book or above - trucks that I wouldn't pay $2500 for were going for three times that amount. The high prices weren't limited to dealers, either - private party sales were just as high...

I paid $10k for mine - bought it from the original owner, and it had 47k miles at the time. Did I pay more than book? Yep, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather pay a little more for a nice truck than book value for garbage. ;)

Sold mine for 11k and folks were begging for me to hold it and got a little fussy when I told them it sold in less then 24 hours. I now wish I had asked more for it. I think the big reason was the price of NEW trucks. Maybe not. But it was real easy to sell and no dickering. 1993 w250 club cab with 114,000 miles and lots of goodys. :--)

These can't both be right on this truck, can they? Unless the hour meter was wired wrong, or the speedo was messed with. Avg. 5. 497/mph

NO they don't sound the same. Didn't think I'd miss the 93 but I do. Miss the sound, armrests, under hood light(LOL) I think it had a little bit tighter turning radius and got better mileage. Bomb'ed it was faster also but not by a lot. Also a lot more knowledge on this forum!I'm sure the 3rd generations will catch up(hope it doesn't take 10 years)LOL.

that other one above sold for like $8500

Then there is this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2431453321&category=31831&rd=1

similiar in a way to fj40, but different. last fj40 was in 83 for usa, not 93 like these, fewer made, rarer. Granted there is alot of unexplained prices that fj40 go for. But i payed $2500 for my 79 fj40 with 18,100 org miles on it about four years ago. It was totaled a year and half ago and only had 38,000 miles on it, Still fighting with insurance on that stuff, was not my fault.

I find it hard to beleve that someone would pay 12,500 for that truck. Now it is clean but I only paid 6k for one very simmilar with a stick from a dealer only a year ago with 140k on the clock. These are great trucks but not that great... .

I just sold mine for 11k and wished I had asked more. Lots of phone calls from several states. Some serious buyers out their. I did'nt drop a penny. Has some call twice and ask for it REALLY sold and If I had CASH in my hand yet!

saw an ad for an '89 w250 w/ Cummins for $2,500, truck is in Waltham, MAssachusetts phone number in ad is 781-330-1256, has a 5 speed, ad says needs minor work.....
