After an oil change my 05 3500 has low oil pressure (low redline) at idle but will come up with RPM's. After driving about 50 miles my oil pressure will come back up to normal even at idle. This started at 50,000 miles. Currently at 58,000. Is this normal?

I believe I have read that on the 03 and up models the gauge in the cab is simply an idicator. The pressure sending unit only notifies the pcm that oil pressure is present and the pcm simulates a fluctuation in oil pressure. It is very odd then that the gauge would read low as it is only an idicator. I would try the sending unit then the gauge itself.

Yep, there is only a pressure switch on the motor, no pressure sender.
