The last few weeks I've been having the same reoccurring problem.

When I first start the truck (after sitting for 8 hours or so) the power level seems very low for that whole drive. After driving the truck for 8 minutes or more and shutting it down and restarting it runs as good as usual. :confused:

I have checked the connections on the Powermax and the EZ and my fuel pressure is also in good shape.

I'm thinking that maybe it's the boost/map sensor (had problems with it before) or maybe the EZ or the PM causing the problem. I've been chasing the problem all weekend and have yet to find the source or a fix. :(

Tomorrow I'm going to try and unhook the PM and then the EZ and see what that does. I can't take both off at once because of the DD3's but maybe taking them off one by one I can find the problem. :confused:

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have you ever tried running your engine with just the DD3s?

It's probably not related because I don't have such big nozzles but mine runs good with just the 275s and no box.

I don't think you can run the DD3's without a box, I'm pretty sure they make too much boost and will cause an over boost code.

I did some more trouble shooting today, I know it's not the PowerMax or the EZ. I changed out the boost/map sensor with a new one I had in the shop, that didn't help either.

My problem goes like this.

The truck seems to be not fueling completely while the engine is cold, but once the engine comes up to operating temp. it will still run poorly, but once it's up to operating temp. if a shut the truck down for 10 seconds and then restart it it will run just fine. :confused:

My question is to those that have changed or cleaned the air temp. sensor on the drivers side of the engine block. I'm thinking that since it seems to run fine after it's up to 180* after I shut it down and restart it that maybe that sensor is my problem.

Still looking for some help. PLEASE :{

I'm not sure of anything yet. :rolleyes:

I'm going to call Shelbyville Chrysler tomorrow and see if they can check the engine codes. No one in my area has the software to do the check, but a local diesel mechanic says he thinks it may be a water temperature sensor going bad. I've got the PM unpluged now and I'm just running the EZ so hopefully tomorrow or Friday I will be able to have fault codes read. :(

I really don't think it the VP44, it doesn't seem to surge or anything drastic just like it's cutting the fueling back while the engine is cold, but I'm no expert so who nows. :confused:
