I have a 99 with an Edge EX, 4", and intake. Last few weeks I have no black smoke and engine is a dog at mid to higher RPM's. I cant get the EGT's to get higher than 890 if I try. Engine starts and runs fine and also show good boost (no misses, etc... ). I believe that the edge has gone south. I was told I could turn the edge off without unhooking it. I can not find this procedure in the owners manual. I would like to test it without having to unhook it because I don't want to set a code with the high boost. I have just changed the fuel filter with no results. Any comments or advice

Unplug the CANBUS connector and leave the MAP plug connected. This will 'turn off' the EZ without fear of an overboost code. The CANBUS connector has 2 wires - the MAP plug has 3 wires and is located just behind the fuel filter.

ok EZ is working. Unhooked it and talk about low power. Hooked it back up and there is a considerable difference. Still lower power then it was. No smoke, and low EGT. Anyone know were to look next?

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Fuel filter? Boost hoses? A loss of boost will result in lower fueling levels.

My fuel pressure is ok. I am getting 13. 5 at idle and 9 WOT. My boost climbs as normal getting to 30LBS. Fuel filter was just changed thinking it might be the problem. The check engine light is also not on.

Is this loss of power all of the time. Or will it run good sometimes? Reason being is that i am having similar issues but sometimes i start the truck and it will run fine.

I have replaced the Apps, map and air charge temp and still no change. . This has been going on for a couple of months on my truck. I borrowed my friends Cummins computer and pluged it into my truck and it straightened out my situation. So i guess that i am in the market for a new computer.

I also run the EZ and at wot i will boost 34psi but where i do not have power is 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.

I have loss of power I guess through the entire RPM band because of the no smoke. By the seat of the pants feeling it is noticable onle in higher RPM's. This problem is all the time.

You may want to look at your APPS or your MAP sensor.

I am still in the novice stages of the diesel world so i am sure that someone will chime in with some good direction
