what is the low rpm/boost like with the smarty? when does it start fueling and what is the throttle response like? my tst powermax cr doest start fueling untill 1500 rpm and 12 lb of boost and i want something that will start right off idle. what is the tnt r like does it still have pod, catcher, and revo tuning

I went from the TST PM to the Smarty Jr. just lately. These units are the opposite of each other! The Jr. fuels strong rite off the line, feels like a EFI gasser almost but doesn't have the top end of the TST set to 4/4 or more. At least thats what my SOP meter tells me but I rarely operate in that range. The Jr. should be much better for towing with its great low and mid range. The Jr. doesn't smoke unless you really hammer it and then mostly at high RPM and full throttle.

well thats good im guessing the smarty sr so6 will b the same way so thats answers 1 of my questions can anyone answer the others?

I love my smarty, (I have the s-06) like Prariedogs' jr. , the smarty does fuel the best on the bottom mid range at first. The revo and tnt tunes helped the top end more, (so did bigger injectors w/ the same tune up on top). For my best power I stack my smarty w/ a Quadzilla adrenaline box for more rail pressure, but don't use it all the time, just to race & sled pull with. Have tried my friend's Bully dog, and another's Edge juice w/ attitude, Smarty wins hands down, but the tnt-r tune on high catchers seems to give my 03' fits under fast acceleration (i. e. it Pops bad) but I've heard that's an 03' specific problem that can be fixed with beta series tunes, and I really haven't worried about it since I don't drag race any more with my dual disk clutch. hope this helps

Oh, sorry Jmerkel, i just reread your post... the throttle response is AMAZING with the revo tunes or higher with the torque setting set at 3 or 4... good or better than any hot set p-pump truck

yes that does help thank you. so smarty is the way to go for low end power but what is the tnt r is it just a different program in the smarty? and can you go back and forth to the regular tuning or does it override that n only let you use the tnt r tuning? im asking because im not sure if i want to buy the smarty revo or the tnt r already downloaded into it from the website. and what are beta series tunes that you say fix the poping with the tnt r ?

Yes, the TNT is just a tune. (they update the same tunes with better mapping as more data is collected every so often) I bought my smarty before the Revo was standard eqip. in a smarty, so I down loaded that as well. The tnt-r is a race only tune only avalible from a smarty dealer or representative such as Bob Wagner. As for the Beta Tunes, I'm honestly really not sure, just have seen that as a solution on other cummins forums for the early 3rd gens.
