:confused: first time posting have 96 4x4 put in a banks stringer plus,rpmsgo up to around 2300-2400 boost goes to 25psi and max speed is about 91miles per hour. shouldnt i have more rpms and boost?what needs to be done? thanks lightfoot

Even though you increased fuel rate the govenor still controls max RPM.



But the real question what were your base numbers before adding the goodies from Banks. RPM,boost



Another words was your max RPM 2300 to 2400and where was your max boost 25.



High idle screw, can be adjusted for max RPM.

You mite have to get one of those adjustment elbows on the turbo. It wil let you pick you own max boost.



Changing your afc springs in Govenor will help to achieve desired max RPM also.



Also a wastegate solenoid pre-set to one boost setting.

thanks missouri mule for the reply rpms were around 2300 before kit didnt have gauges either and would go only 80-85mph. this is a replacement for my 99 that was totaled 4/18/01. couldnt see getting a new one. waiting for 2003. not sure how to do the things you mentioned and dont trust places here in miami to do these things. will hit 100,000 in the next couple of days . thanks,ligthfoot retired usn
 
had recall #970 done yesterday by dc. throttle cable was frayed and stretched. now rpms will go to about 2700-2800 and boost is up to 38lbs now. and i backed off after it hit 100mph!!!!also had fuel pressure checked by cummins and the lift pump was putting out 22psi. truck runns great. i wonder what its going to do after i change the gov. springs??? lightfoot
