Low speed shutter

My 05 3500 truck has developed a "shutter" during braking at very low speed - 3-5mph.

The manual transmission can be in or out and clutch can be in or out - no difference.

Total miles are about 40k and front brakes and rotors look good.

there seems to be about 1/2" of play in the driveshaft carrier bearing.

Any clues?

Sounds like U joints to me. thats pretty much how mine started, then got worse... real quick! Carrier support bearing usually will show up upon acceleration from a start, more pronounced with a load.
