Since 1993 Sulphur in Diesel fuel has been drastically reduced in California. I have tried the search but do seem to have the correct approach. What effect does this have on our older diesel engines, if any.

I bought my '93 new in Jan. of '93 and as soon as they went to low sulfur diesel I started using Stanadymne Preformance formula. I have had no problems to date.

I believe that sulfur served the same purpose as lead in gasoline, it provided lubrication.

Most fuel meets a min of 0. 05 ppm sulfur content.

You can use stanadyne PF, Amalgamated #15 diesel additive (best one around), Howes Meaner Power Cleaner ( leans more to lubricity than cetane improvment), LE (lubrication engineers ??).

Since our injection pumps are cooled and lubricated solely by fuel it pays to have a bit of additive in the fuel system. At least once every two tanks anyway...

Just my opinion...

Bob.

:) Thank you all. I respect your opinion and will start using what Bushwakr stated. By the Way Bush we are starting North about 6/14 and hope to be in the fishing country some time in August.
