I installed the TST PM3 adjustable a few weeks ago and was hitting 38 lbs. boost. Now I can only get 34-36 lbs. I tightened all the hose clamps and cleaned my filter still the same. Truck seemed to run strongest when I first installed it, the check engine light was on then too. It went out the second time I started the truck with the box put on, never came back on either. Any suggestions to try?

KevinO,

Checking All the boost clamps and hoses is the first place to look. But it sounds like you've done that.

So here's a few more to check:

1. the Boost gauge connections.

2. All of the Intake bolts on the Intake manifold it self, Plus the Air intake horn bolts. While checking these look at all of the gaskets. I have seen the gasket push out from under the Aluminum intake cover or the intake horn gasket might be torn.

3. Check your exhaust manifold bolts - Especially the rear 4 bolts. On our "Properly Valved" 24V trucks the bolts come loose and fall out causing exhaust leaks.

4. Did you install a boost elbow? I doubt this is a Wastegate issue but it could be. Try clamping the Boost Hose to wastegate actuater shut with a small pair of Visegrips.

There are many other factors that change Boost levels. Temperature? Is it warmer out now compared to before?

Did you have more weight in the truck before?

Are you at the same altitude?

What brand of gauge and what range is it?

Start with these and let us know what you find.

As for the check engine light. You may have set a code when installing the Fueling Box. Usually from having the key on when the Map sensor is un plugged. The CheckEngine light will go off after a few starts if the problem is gone. The code is still in there though. Do you know which code it is??

I found another clamp on the lower elbow that I thought was a permanent fitting. It was pretty loose and my truck has run alot better since. Thanks for the help. Kevin
