I had the tape measure out today and measured the distance between the top of tire and bottom of wheelwell (the metal fender, not the plastic liner). Both front and rear on pass. side are about 1/4" lower than on the driver's side. Truck was on level asphalt when measurements were taken. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Fuel tank is showing about 7/8 full. Even if it were empty, that's only about a 200 lb difference though. :confused: Maybe I should have someone sit in the driver's seat and measure again... ...

Mine has been 'pre-loaded' such that the driver's side is about 3/4" low since the day I got it. Would have preferred it the other way so just a driver evens it out, but don't see a practical way to change that. Haven't noticed any driving irregularities, and if I hide my tape measure it isn't even noticable when parked... I don't worry about it.

how many miles do u have on the truck?. . One possible explanation is that the torque from the engine rotation (which torques the engine towards the right side of the vehicle) has compressed the springs on the passenger side... If you look most of the semis with some miles on them. . they sit a lil lower on the right side from the engine torquing while pulling a load... I wouldnt worry about it untill u see the difference between the right and left sides growing further apart... Just my . 02

The truck has about 4500 miles on it. It doesn't seem to me to be a big deal. However, given that it's a new truck I tend to be more easily alarmed when I find something like this.

This is the first time I have taken such a measurement on this truck, so I don't have anything else to go on. I've been thinking that it may be related to this incident :confused:

If it will make you feel better, my truck is 1/4'' lower on the passenger side (without anyone inside) :eek:

Since I tip the scale at 230 pounds (the wife just put my sorry fanny on a diet), it should balance out when I drive down the road. :cool:

Form

Mine is 3/4" lower on the pass side with the fuel tank full in all!!!!!, I took it to the dealer back when it was a month old. They have a special form showing a diagram of a truck and where to take a bunch of measurements from. The form is faxed to Dc and a decision is made on whether or not it is "Within Spec". Mine sat a little lower than yours and was ruled within spec.

The truck in now seven month old and has settled evenly :rolleyes:.

The left and right coil springs on my 2wd are different part numbers.

I measured the wire diameters with a dial caliper and got:

left=. 915

right=. 892

I assume this is to counteract the weight of the driver with a large chew

or some such thing. :)

I know when i put my superlift kit on my truck it clearly specified passenger and driver side spring as one was longer than the other(forget which one now). Whether this was to offset the "factory lean" or to maintain it, I'm not sure.
