Hi, the lower radiator hose on my 1997 3500 developed a cut due to rubbing inside engine compartment below battery tray.

The hose looks easy enough to remove however what coolant is recommended and quantity?

Any possible hose alternatives to the rubber one, i.e., braided stainless steel?

All the best,
Chris

Plain rubber hose works fine. You may have to trim the length so it doesn't rub. As for antifreeze, The plain old green Ethylene Glycol is what you want, either premix or 50/50 antifreeze/distilled water. Do not use tap or well water. Found this chart on the TDR.
