Hi, I have had my Lower radiator hose come off the radiator twice now. Once running down the road pulling my toy hauler, and once with the truck shutoff while i was eating breakfast. after the first time i replaced the Tstat and rad cap and drove it for a while, with just water in it no problems. So i put antifreeze in it and drove it for 3 months than last saturday morning drove for about 40 minutes than parked truck, am inside eating breakfast and my friend said that my truck was leaking fluid. I ran out and poped the hood and the lower rad hose had pulled off of the radiator again.

I am running the factory constant tension clamps which are still a bear to put on and off, but the hose felt like it might have been going soft so i replaced both hoses and put more coolant in it. .

My question is why hose was coming off instead of blowing rad cap or is there some kind of suction going on to make the hose pull off the radiator??????

I would have the cap checked to make sure it is relieving at the correct pressure and replace the hose clamp with a screw type clamp. With the engine running the lower hose should be the lowest pressure in system as the pump is pulling water from the radiator. bg

I would start with the easiest things to check first, new hoses and new clamps. If that doesn't solve it, you could have a head gasket leak pressurizing the coolant system and causing the hose to come off. We had that happen on an old VW Rabbit diesel.
