Lower Supension Arm

I NEED TO REPLACE THE LOWER SUSPENSION ARM , IF ANYONE KNOWS OF PLACE WHERE THIS CAN BE PURCHASED AND WHAT I SHOULD EXPECT TO PAY... . MY TRUCK IS A 1999 CTD 4X4 CLUB CAB AND I MUST REPLACE THE ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE ... .

Contact rancho suspension products,I did same thing on my 95 4x4 on both sides. You will have to buy the kit.

I agree with Walcott. The stock stamped control arms are shaky at best, if you need to replace them and can afford to use something other than boneyard parts I would recommend you get the aftermarket arms from Rancho, or Skyjacker or a company like them. They are made of tubular steel, not sheet metal, and are threaded for adjustment so you are not relying on stamped sheet metal eccentrics for adjustment. They should firm up the steering as well.



Oh, turn your caps lock off, a guy can get yelled at for that. It is considered "yelling" on the internet to type in all capitals, and I don't have any idea why that is... ... ... ...

I don't know what year your truck is, but I have all 4 OEM control arms from my 2001 4x4 that I saved after having my Skyjacker 2 1/2" lift kit installed a year ago. I'd be willing to sell you one or all 4 or whatever. Not sure what a fair price would be. PM me or email directly if you're interested.

I'm curious as to why it needs to be replaced.



Sure would interesting to see some calcs comparing the buckling strength of the stock vs aftermarket control arms... ... I'm not entirely convinced the aftermarket arms are any stronger. Only real advantages may be adjustable length and the smooth edge/no edge so my tires wouldn't make so much noise when they rub.

Bought the truck used , sure enough i did not notice it until later the middle of the arm is bent/buckled . I would think it should be replaced ?

Its a 1999 ctd club cab 4x4 , i do not know if your arms would fit on my truck ? and if they did i also would not know what a fair price would be ... Thanks for the offer.

thanks for the heads up i was not paying attention when i typed the post... . thanks for your response

by the way i looked all over the web last night ( probably in the wrong places) i could not find any place that sells them individually

You're probably not going to find anyone advertising them seperately. If you call Skyjacker and tell them what you need I'm confident they will be able to help you. I've dealt with them on other things and they are good people.



BTW, if you still want a stock replacement I have one off my 99. Let me know...

Any clues to what might have caused the damage? Did the PO run oversize tires? I'd check the undercarriage carefully to see if there is anymore hidden suprises.

A lower control arm for your truck from dodge runs about 320. 00. I just replaced one on my old man's truck from an accident that took place over a year ago... . ball joint socket was elongated. I agree with what Walcott said in that you might do better going after market as well as save some money.

do not know , bought this through a dealer ( mazda) here in jersey , po i believe lives in Connecticut. one thing was interesting the truck had 49000 miles on it but the tires are in excellent condition almost new. i took your advise looked underneath for any more nasty surprises other than a leak from the transfer case ever thing looks OK. Thanks
