Will be getting a new truck. Have a clearance problem with fifth wheel. Need help with ideas for raising trailer, and or lowering 2500. Looked at the rear of new truck, and it appears to have two spacers between spring and axle, about an inch and a quarter. Any help on this? Can they be removed?

Check to see if you can get your trailer raised (flipping the axles or through Jake Plate adjustments).

I don't have any problem with my Montana - with 8" clearance over the soft tonneau rails - in spite of the 59" height of the rear corner of the bed with rails attached.

When that 2500 pounds of pin weight is on the hitch, the truck is almost perfectly level, too! :D

I pull a 33' Avion 5th wheel, and when I purchased it I had an 8" subframe made to put between the original frame and the axles. This raised the trailer up to the point that it rode level, thereby saving the rear axle tires and bearings from excessive wear.

I have a DRW with the same problem. Just finished raising the 5th. Added 1. 5 inch square tubing with longer U bolts between the springs and axle pad (already have the axles flipped). It was easy to build the blocks from the square tubing. I jacked the trailer up until it sat level which was about 2 inches lift. Went with 1. 5 inch lift because everything was empty and figured the truck would squat when loaded.
