I need a set of hoses from the LP tanks to the regulator/tank select valve. Is there anywhere to look befor going to the rv store? havent looked into this much yet, just lookin for options... . (think small $$)

Hi Last winter during the ice storm went to the local hydralic shop and got them made custom. I'm sure they'll have the right stuff, especially if there into racing.

Worth a shot .

Many propane dealers will make them up for you. I went to Suburban Propane in Anchorage a week or so ago and got two made up with the OPB style to the length of my choosing for $28.

Look Carefully At Fittings

Yes! Take a good magnifying glass, and inspect the concave machined area on the brass fittings that screw into the regulator. In my experience, at least half the Mexican-made fittings are utter junk. They aren't machined well, with scratches or dents where it counts. They will leak. No amount of teflon tape or pipe dope will fix the problem, just make it worse. Leak testing is essential once installed. Install them before you leave on your trip.

This is one of those rare times where if I can't find an American-made assembly, Chinese is my second choice.

The flare fittings are actually OK. The hoses are drying out and seeping anought to make a boubble from the soap water where they are clamped to the barb behind the brass fittings on both ends. Not enough to even smell, but yeah, need to fix it soon.

WOW! 36"?!! With my old set up, that would be enough to coil around the tank before heading to the reg. The hoses I have are only about 10" or so, and have plenty of slack.

Well they wouldn't fit on my old 5th wheel. I tried 24" ones and the way they came off the regulator did not allow enough slack to turn the corner and come back at the tank valve. The tank valves point to the outside right and left in the box and it put a bind in the hose to try and make it fit. Went to the 36" and it worked great. My setup was a standard dual 7 gal upright tanks with the automatic switch regulator in the middle and above the tanks.

I went to a local industrial hose supplier to have mine made... . I put a 4' hose on one of my tanks... now when I take the trailer out in the woods..... We take with us a 80 lb cylinder... . set it up next to the trailer and turn it on...

We've put a second heater in the trailer for very cold weather... . we found that below 30* the factory heater wouldn't do the trick... . when we go elk hunting, or take the trailer out in the winter... we've run across temps down to -10* and need the extra heat...
