I have an 02 3500 auto. because of all the talk about LPs I had a LED 5 psi warning light installed on my BD monitor. it came on when the key was turned on and went out when it started as it should. But after a minute at idle it would come on. At higher rpms it would go out. I will have a LP installed in front of fuel tank on monday. my question is have I damaged the injector pump and if so how much and how do I tell. Would appreciate your help. Robert

duckcarvr,

I too have the BD low pressure LED that comes on at 5 psi. The other day it was on after I had started the engine and of course I freaked out, popped the hood, and checked my pressure gauge and it was fine. I drove around for a couple of days with that darn light on before it finally went out. I called BD and they told me they had no idea why it does that and simply suggested that I buy a new sending unit. I have only had this one for a year and a half and maybe 25k miles. So much for my early warning system.

Hahn, dude your not the only one, we had a truck that came in with that installed, tested the pressure of the LP, come to find out the darn warning light didnt even work (hooked up correctly,I verified it) LP pump didnt work and the VP44 was pulling a vacuume, badd ju ju!!!!! That old man that owned that truck was run over by one of our so called diesel performance shops here in Corpus Christi, he had to buy a VP 2 weeks later,I ripped out that light and gave him a gauge to look at... .....
