Well I replaced my first LP today. Wasnt exactly the "15 minute job" some have made it out to be, but this was my first. I did it in about 1 hour with about 15minutes of cussing. I did it from the top with out removing the filter. Next time the filter gets moved! for more room for my fat hands.

Here are some of the things I found out. There is really no good way to get a TQ Wrench to the banjos on the pump, so I just went with a wrench and made them "snug". Any Ideas for the next time? I did TQ the outlet of the pump before install so that one is right. No leaks so far and I've been out a couple times today after truck as sat and she fires right up ( no air leaks).

I pulled a bone head move right off the bat and forgot to un-do the wire harness. It was a ***** trying to get it undone with no resistance to pull against the pump. I had to re-install one of the support nuts to get the harness off.

When I installed the pump I dumped as much Stanadyne in to the pump that I could get to help with the initial draw and lube the pump as it primed. Dont know if it helped but it may have.

Purged the air with at the VP Banjo, even though I ave a tapped banjo, I had enough hose on my FP sender that I could loosen the banjo. About ten starter bumps later I had good flow at the banjo, Re-TQ'd it and she started right up No problem.

Here's the pressures I'm getting:

13. 6-14. 4 at idle, up from the 10-11 I was getting with old pump.

Cruise at 70 was 10. 4 up from the 8. 8 on the old one.

WOT up to 60MPH was 7. 0 up from the 4. 8 on the old.

I think that my sender still has a little air in it as the pressure was flunctuating alittle, but I think that all went well.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks to all who answered my may questions in the past week leading up to this.

Thanks
